THE CHAMPION

Carol Clegg-Lamptey

Who doesn’t like to be a champion?
Who doesn’t like being associated with a champion?
Isn’t it great to know that you’re one of the best or the best in a particular field or activity?
It most certainly is!
Let me answer myself .😉🙃

Brings to mind my performance in primary school. I was always getting second best when I was in a class with a certain someone; she knows herself. 👋🏽
Then, there was a particular year we were not put in the same class.
Oh that year! 💃🏽💃🏽💃🏽
I topped!
I still look back at that time with fond memories. I was the best!!!! 😅🤓
(Well, in that class anyway 🤣😅)

Who is a champion?
A champion is one who has defeated or surpassed all rivals In a competition. Note the word alllllllll. 😃
The Hebrew word ‘archẽgos’ which means ‘one who takes the lead in anything’ (from one account) is said to be used exclusively as a christological title for the exalted Jesus and is found just 4 times in Scripture.

It also means the following: author, prince, captain, leader, beginner.
I’m getting excited,..are you??😅

Jesus is our undisputed champion!
I liked how it was put in the sermon last Sunday in my church.
Behold these words 😄

Jesus is indeed the Messiah, the Christ, the Son of the Living God.
Instituted, ordained, certified, approved, prophesied, manifested, glorified.
Wow!

That is the God we serve; three persons in one God
What a wow!!!

Let’s read:

Acts 3:15 NIV –
You killed the author of life, but God raised him from the dead. We are witnesses of this.

Acts 5:31 NIV –
God exalted him to his own right hand as Prince and Saviour that he might bring Israel to repentance and forgive their sins.

Hebrews 2:10 NIV –
In bringing many sons and daughters to glory, it was fitting that God, for whom and through whom everything exists, should make the pioneer of their salvation perfect through what he suffered.

Hebrews 12:2 NIV –
fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith.

For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Last night I got so disturbed by a documentary I watched and it reminded me how evil the devil is and how he works through men to do his abominable deeds on earth.
It left me more than a little disillusioned.
God you saw all that?? If I felt sick to the stomach,..I can’t imagine Gods reaction.
It took me back to the days of Noah.

Genesis 6:5-6 NLT –
The LORD observed the extent of human wickedness on the earth, and he saw that everything they thought or imagined was consistently and totally evil.

6 So the LORD was sorry he had ever made them and put them on the earth. It broke his heart.

Hmmm,…

But my counselor uno reminded me that God indeed sees, and yet He is able to work all things out for good, for His glory. But it’s hard!
All I could do so was rest in the fact that God is in control. He’s the God who sees and He’s the God that is good.
My heart goes out to all the victims of the deception.
BUT GOD!

Jesus is our champion!
Praaaaaaaise God!!!!!
