THE BATTLE

Carol Clegg-Lamptey

Life is a battle.

There are ups and downs. Even Jesus asked us as believers not to worry about tomorrow, since everyday had enough trouble of its own.

Another thing I’ve learnt is that talk is cheap. It’s one thing, to give all the right answers, but it’s only when the test comes, that you truly see whether you’re walking the talk or just talking the talk.

Life is a battle.
Why do I say so?

It seems there’s always something going on. You may have a brief respite, but there’s always some test or trial lurking in the shadows waiting for you.

But guess what??
You have a God who has promised never to leave you nor forsake you.
You have a God who loves you with an everlasting love.
You have a God who asks you to call on HIm and He will answer.
You have a God who calls you friend.
You have a God who has given you all you need for life and godliness.
You have a God who has given you armour to stand against the devil and his schemes.
You have a God who fights for you — the battle is the Lord’s.
And THAT is the God we serve!!
All glory to HIs Holy Name!!

Ephesians 6:10-18 NIV

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.

11 Put on the full armour of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.

12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

13 Therefore put on the full armour of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.

14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place,

15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.

16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.

17 Take the helmet of salvation
and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.

So lets daily put on our armour. Each element is important.

The parts as we see from the Scripture are:

Helmet: prevents injuries to the head.
Breastplate: protects vital body parts such as the heart, lungs and other essential organs.
Belt: secures or holds up clothing; also carries objects such as tools or weapons.
Shield: to intercept specific attacks eg arrows, blocks, etc.
Sword: used for manual cutting or thrusting.
Footwear: provides grip when in motion.

So let’s face each day knowing that WE HAVE A GOD.
He is faithful.
He keeps His Word.
Amen and amen!

God dey paaaaaaaaaa!!!!
