TESTIMONY

Carol Clegg-Lamptey

What does this word mean to you?
Something I like telling my younger son is a line from the movie Akeelah and the Bee, where she is told that big words come from little words. Love that movie!

So in the word testimony lies the word test. ๐Ÿค”
Does that therefore imply that to have a testimony,..one may go through a test?

What does the Good Book say?

James 1:2-4 NIV –
Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3 because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. 4 Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything

The key words in that passage are testing, faith, perseverance, mature and complete. Hmmmm.

Back to the word TESTIMONY.
According to Merriam-Webster, a testimony is a solemn declaration usually made by a witness under oath in response to an interrogation by a lawyer or authorized public official, firsthand authentication of a fact, an outward sign, a public profession of a religious experience.

When a follower of Christ, talks about their testimony, many refer to their verbal sharing with someone else, or in front of an audience what Christ means to them.

We can testify of this relationship with Christ verbally, in writing, and through our lives.

2 Corinthians 3:3 NIV –
You show that you are a letter from Christ, the result of our ministry, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts.

Yesterday was my birthday and a wonderful day it was! The outpouring of love was massive. ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿฅฐ๐Ÿค—
I simply couldnโ€™t keep one particular song out of my head. Itโ€™s even playing in my mind as I write and itโ€™s by Team Eternity Ghana – Testimony.
I so identify with the words.

God is toooo good to me!
God has changed my life, He has changed my story.
So I give Him all the glory ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿพ
He has given me a tessstimony!
Iโ€™m thankful for everything He has done for me!
๐Ÿ’ƒ๐Ÿฝ๐Ÿ’ƒ๐Ÿฝ๐Ÿ’ƒ๐Ÿฝ๐Ÿ’ƒ๐Ÿฝ๐Ÿ’ƒ๐Ÿฝ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿพ

I know who I used to be.
I know who I am now IN CHRIST.
Life happened to me like it has happened to all of us.
BUT GOD!
After what Iโ€™ve seen God do in my life, I canโ€™t help but proclaim His name day after day after day!
What a God!
He picked me from the miry clay and set my feet upon the Rock! He put a new song in my mouth! (Psalm 40:2) ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿพ

He has give me a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. (Isaiah 61;3) ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿพ

This is my testimony.
Whatโ€™s yours??

God bless you!
