1 Corinthians 15:55-57 NIV – Where, O death, is your victory?
Where, O death, is your sting?”
56 The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law.
57 But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Yesterday in my country , we were shocked to hear of the passing of one of our own; a beloved musician who I unfortunately never got the chance to meet. We shall surely meet in heaven .
🙏🏽🙏🏽
The title of this blog came up in the sermon at church yesterday, which was titled “Members for God’s purpose”.
Some things I’ve come to learn as I’ve grown over the years summarized into 5 points would be the following;
1. I am not a mistake.
2. I am dearly loved by God – we all are. God so loved the world that He gave His Son as the perfect offering for our sins. God loves us, but hates sin.
3. God desires a relationship with me.
4. God calls us to live lives that are set apart for Him.
5. God has a purpose for our lives, and we must seek to find this purpose; but ultimately that purpose is to serve Him and to bring glory to His Holy name.
Life,…. people come, people go, BUT GOD!
What is purpose?
The reason for which something is done or created or for which something exists.
God has a purpose for each of us.
Truth be told, as much as God has a work for each of us to do, if we refuse to do that work, He is more than able to raise others to do it. Hmmmm.
The parable of the talents comes to mind. Let’s not bury our talents however ‘small’ they may appear. When we place them into the able hands of our Lord, He multiples them. Jesus fed a group of 5000 men excluding women and children with 5 loaves of bread and 2 fish! That’s our God ooo! 💃🏽💃🏽💃🏽💃🏽
God has positioned us at various places.
You are not in that office for no reason, that family, that country (Ghana my happy home! 😅🤣), that church, that ministry, that friendship,..and the list goes on.
Let’s seek God face and allow Him to guide us daily so that at the end of each day we can see how we have served our Master faithfully. Yesterday it was KODA (may he rest in perfect peace 🥹), tomorrow it could be you or me. Only God knows.
We are in the world, but not of the world. Heaven is our final destination and death marks that transition. May we work for Jesus while we’re here every single day of our lives. Life here is just a fraction of eternity. Let’s make it count!
With God, nothing is impossible. We shall face trials and troubles on this side of time, but we have a Saviour who has won the victory already.
Glory to His Holy Name! 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
I’ll end with the words of this hymn.
Work for Jesus, day by day,
Serve Him ever, falter never; Christ obey.
Yield Him service loyal, true,
There’s a work for Jesus none but you can do.
God bless you!
