When the music fades; all is stripped away
And I simply come; longing just to bring
Something that’s of worth; that will bless Your heart
I’ll bring You more than a song
For a song in itself Is not what You have required
You search much deeper within
Through the way things appear, You’re looking into my heart,..
One would ask – What is at the heart of worship?
My answer would be β more than a song! π
This is what I found online:
The heart of worship is our heart , delighting in Jesus (God) and expressing praise to Him for the true things the Scriptures teach us about who He is and what He has accomplished for us.
It is then all about Jesus (God), not us.
It involves us, but weβre at the periphery. He is at the centre.

This brings another song to mind – Jesus at the centre of it all.
Indeed He is – He is the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world, the Lion of Judah, the Way, the Truth and the Life, He is the Light of the World!!!!

Even though songs play a big part in worship, thereβs much more to worship than songs.
Even when it comes to songs, the motive is important. God sees our hearts.
Are we simply paying lip service or we mean the words we are singing??
O for a heart to praise my God,
A heart from sin set free;
A heart that always feels Thy blood
So freely spilt for me

I came across these pearls:
β’β β Worship is more than a song
β’β β We worship in the spirit. John 4:23. We worship God though whom He created us to be. Through our inner selves, ie, our intellect, emotions and creativity.
β’β β We worship in truth. True and proper worship extends from our inner selves to entire selves.
β’β β We worship through surrender – of all we have and all we are; laying it all at the feet of Jesus. π₯Ή
Psalm 96:1-4, 9,10 NIV –
Sing to the LORD a new song;
sing to the LORD, all the earth.
2 Sing to the LORD, praise his name;
proclaim his salvation day after day.
3 Declare his glory among the nations,
his marvelous deeds among all peoples.
4 For great is the LORD and most worthy of praise;
he is to be feared above all gods.
9 Worship the LORD in the splendor of his holiness;
tremble before him, all the earth.
10 Say among the nations, βThe LORD reigns. β
The world is firmly established, it cannot be moved;
he will judge the peoples with equity.
Amen and amen!!!
God bless you! π€
