This phrase.
Three simple words; yet the depth of meaning they convey.
Do you find yourself using it very often?
I certainly do.
And I put it to you —- “It is well”
Two songs come to mind
1. When peace like a river attendeth my way
2. Through the love of God our Saviour
What does this phrase mean and why at all do people use it??
I’m putting together what I read online; you can put what you think in the comment section.
It means that no matter what tragic or unexpected thing may happen in my life..my life is in God’s hands and I trust Him.
Just look at the story behind the first song.
Horatio Spafford lost so much
– a fortune in the great Chicago fire of 1871.
– his beloved four-year-old son died of scarlet fever
– his four daughters lost their lives in a ship crossing the Atlantic Ocean
Can you imagine such a loss??
And yet, this man wrote the words of the beautiful hymn we sing.
I don’t know what you’re going through.
I certainly know what I am going through.
All I can say to you is
“It is well.”
With Christ in the vessel,..we shall smiiiiile π at the storm!
A few Bible verses below:
1 Kings 5:4 NLT
But now the LORD my God has given me peace on every side; I have no enemies, and all is well.
Psalm 112:5 ESV
It is well with the man who deals generously and lends;
who conducts his affairs with justice.
So my brother,.. my sister.
IT IS WELL
Why??
Because God dey,..we too we dey paaaaaa!!

God bless you!
It Is Well
Thank youπ
It is well indeed.
God bless you!
It is well means I trust in God than I do in myself and the happenings around me. Everything would eventually turn out for His good and mine too.
Amen.
I love that.
God bless you!
God bless you Carol.
It is well indeed π
Amen
It is well!!!!
God bless you my dear!
It is well because whatsoever we face in this pilgrimage as God’s pilgrims has a godly purpose as reiterated in Romans 8:28 “And we know that in all things God works for good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” Very transformational, Carol!
Amen and amen. Your words encourage me.
Life can throw all sorts of things our way; but remembering the truth of Romans 8:28 is such an encouragement.
God bless you!
